Adorno Fathers Take Root in Their First Philippine Parish

A new chapter of mission and service has begun for the Clerics Regular Minor (Adorno Fathers) as they officially assume pastoral leadership of San Jose Amang Mapagkalinga Parish in the Diocese of Novaliches—their first parish in the Philippines. In a solemn yet joyful celebration, Fr. Melvin Avilla, CRM, was installed as parish priest by Most Rev. Roberto Gaa, D.D., Bishop of Novaliches. He will be supported in his ministry by Fr. Wilson Olea, CRM, a newly ordained priest, and Rev. Br. Jordan Valencia, CRM, a transitional deacon.

For the Adorno Fathers, this marks a significant milestone in their growing presence in the country. Their mission in the Philippines began in 2002, when they were invited by Bishop Benjamin J. Almoneda to serve in the Diocese of Daet. Since then, they have expanded to communities in Vinzons, Camarines Norte, and Lipa, Batangas. The congregation's USA-Philippines Delegation, established in 2006, connects their missions in both nations, with religious houses also present in New Jersey, South Carolina and North Carolina.

With this new pastoral assignment, the Adorno Fathers continue their commitment to forming a vibrant faith community. They embrace this mission with gratitude and look forward to walking with the people of San Jose Amang Mapagkalinga Parish, bringing the compassionate heart of the Good Shepherd to all.
