A Cry for Hope: Stand with Goma, Congo
In the heart of suffering, where despair threatens to overshadow hope, our mission in Goma, Congo, stands as a testament to the power of faith and resilience. For nearly four decades, the Clerics Regular Minor (Adorno Fathers) have carried the light of Christ into this land, bringing hope to the hopeless and love to the forgotten. Today, that mission is at a breaking point, and we need you to stand with us.
The people of Goma, along with our seminarians and novices, are facing unimaginable hardships. The relentless bombardments have left them without electricity, without water, and without peace. On January 27th, our brother, Fr. Moise, narrowly escaped harm while praying in the chapel—a moment that could have ended in tragedy. And yet, God spared him, a reminder that His mercy endures, even in the darkest hour.
But this is not just their story; it is ours as well. As the body of Christ, we are called to stand together in times of trial. Our brothers in Goma continue to serve as unwavering beacons of hope, nurturing faith in the midst of fear and chaos. They embody the words of St. Paul: “We are afflicted in every way, but not crushed; perplexed, but not driven to despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed” (2 Corinthians 4:8-9).
Their courage challenges us. Their faith inspires us. Their plight demands our response.
Now is the time for us to act. We must rise as one family in Christ, united in prayer, love, and generosity. Let us flood the heavens with prayers for peace, safety, and strength for our brothers in Goma. Let every parish, every home, and every heart cry out to God for an end to this suffering.
But prayer alone is not enough. Just as Christ fed the hungry and healed the sick, we too are called to act. Your generosity, no matter how small, can become a lifeline for this mission. A gift that provides water, restores electricity, or even delivers a moment of comfort can transform lives. It is not just an act of charity—it is an act of faith, a proclamation of love, and a testament to our shared humanity.
Let the words of Jesus ring in our hearts: “Whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me” (Matthew 25:40). Now is our chance to make those words a living reality.
Together, we can bring hope where it seems lost, light where darkness reigns, and peace where chaos threatens to consume. Let us stand with our brothers in Goma, not as distant onlookers, but as family bound by the love of Christ.
The time to act is now. The call is urgent. Will you answer?

May the intercession of St. Francis Caracciolo and the grace of our Lord guide us as we rise to this challenge. Let us be the hands and feet of Christ for Goma. Together, we can bring His love to a broken world.
