P. Ted Confirmed Superior General

The 64th General Chapter of the Order of Clerics Regular Minor was held in Sacrofano, Rome, and saw the re-election of Fr. Theodore O. Kalaw, CRM, as Superior General for the next six years. The election ceremony, held on July 13, 2024, was a moment of great importance and renewed hope for the Order.

With deep humility, Fr. Kalaw accepted the mandate, making the profession of faith and receiving the greeting of peace and the sign of obedience from the Chapter Fathers. This event marked a new beginning, strengthening the spiritual bond and cooperation among the members of the Order.

The General Chapter also elected the new members of the General Consultation. In addition to Fr. Theodore O. Kalaw as Superior General, Fr. Fernando Olivieri was chosen as Vicar General, Fr. Biju Thattamparampil as Procurator General, Fr. Norbert Marayo as Secretary General and Fr. Boban Madathiparampil as Assistant General.

Over the past six years, under Fr. Kalaw's leadership, the Order has experienced a period of growth and consolidation. Several religious houses have been canonically erected and key documents have been approved that have strengthened the Order's identity and mission. Delegations in Italy, India, Germany, the United States, the Philippines, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Tanzania and Kenya benefited from these developments, testifying to a growing unity and renewed commitment.

Looking to the future, the Order is preparing to face new challenges with faith and determination. With divine grace and the intercession of the Holy Founders, the Order of Clerics Regular Minor continues its mission for the greater glory of the Risen Christ. The election of Fr. Kalaw and the new Consultation is a sign of hope and renewed dedication to the service of God and the community.

General Chapter 2024 reaffirmed the importance of dialogue and collaboration, fundamental elements for spiritual and community growth. As emphasized during the Mass of the Holy Spirit that opened the Chapter, it is essential to be open to the gifts of the Holy Spirit and to work together in humility to bring hope and healing to the world.

This new chapter in the history of the Order represents an ongoing commitment in faith and service, uniting all members in a common mission of love and dedication to God and neighbor.
